The tracking website Downdetector revealed that several nations were impacted by the outages.Several of the most well-known platforms in the world are run by Meta. Instagram is predicted to reach 1.4 billion users globally later this year, whereas Facebook now has three billion active monthly users.

Launched in 2023, Threads, its counterpart to Twitter, also encountered disruptions. Meta also owns WhatsApp; therefore, it was unaffected.In 2021, Meta suffered its largest outage, for which its creator, Mark Zuckerberg, issued an apology for the inconvenience.

During that incident, the services for Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, and Facebook fell down for over six hours.
