Apple is securing iMessage for the future to guard against the unsettling threat of quantum computing hacking.

Apple is preparing to launch PQ3, a \”post-quantum cryptography protocol,\” iMessage will soon receive a significant security update.
Well, those are some fancy words, but what exactly do they mean? To put it briefly, PQ3 is a new kind of encryption technology that can create the encryption keys for an iPhone iMessage text locally. After the text reaches Apple servers, a new key is generated and sent back to the device.
